So I'm trying to do my homework before I go out and field test. (I don't have any decent shops around so I want get as much info as I can before I go on my vacation (which will include shopping around.) From all of the demos I've seen/heard I think I want to get a Gretsch 5122 (a double cutaway electromatic . . . full hollow) and run it through a vox AC15cc1. I also play a strat so it would go through the Vox, but I know that's a good match. I need this to be a dual purpose rig. I need it to be loud enough for small clubs/church but quiet enough to record in an appartment-like living arrangement. What do you all think? Can the vox do that? What do you think of hollows through an AC15? Is there anything I should be aware of before I start? Thanks a lot.

ps I know tone etc is subjective. I'm going for classic rock, blues, and some jangly shimmering tones for indie type stuff. Would this rig, in your oppinion, be versatile enough to do what I'm asking of it? Thanks.

Same guitar? What do you think of it? I'm quite struck by it (without actually having played it.) Thanks man.
