Hello all,

I've been a member of homerecording.com for a while now. I've been using a VS-840Ex. On the weekend I went out and bought Sonar XL. I was actually given Sonar 2.0. That's another story all together. I should be picking up XL tomorrow. I was lucky enough to get a deal with the store I bought it off and got an Edirol Da-2496 at a great price.

I went out today and bought the Sonar 2 Power book (written by Scott R Garrigus) for a bit of pre-using reading.

I'm going to be running Sonar XL on my 1.6 Ghz Intel Processor, 512Mb RAM, Windows XP Home (dedicated OS to music), a 20GB & 30GB 7200rpm Data drive for recording + additional drives for backing up.

I've got a Roland JV-1010 synth... however with the advent of the Edirol software synth I may not need to use this anymore.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop a post and say 'Hi'.

Talk/Post soon,

Porter

You may still want to use the JV as soft synths put a load on your CPU.Not only that you may or may not be totally pleased with the softsynths.
You also can probably access more features than you would of thought on the JV using your computer.

Good to have you on board, and remember...

All the cool kids use S-O-N-A-R-!
