Mercenary audio says

"Improvements coming to the GREAT RIVER ELECTRONICS MP-2MH.
The MP-2MH will get many of the 'ergonomic' features of the MP-2NV sometime in 2002 or 2003, (depends how much time Dan spends designing, and how much time he spends drinking on his boat)"

They are selling it now...but, I take it that the improved version hasn't come yet?

I am wondering if there is any reason to wait for the new version...if the differences are going to be just physical...

I really want this pre now...

It's a ways away. Hic.

Not before AES in October. In fact I
just got a bunch of sets of metal for the current units in this week.

The EQ section for the NV has priority.
Since I'm a one man band in the design department it takes a while to get everything done.

woah Dan Kennedy?!

Awesome, great to see you on the board! I hope you can find some time in your busy schedule to keep us updated. I was trying to get a "go ahead" from Harvey Gerst as far as buying it...in the other forum...but, if you check this again, I will just ask you -

Is there going to be a big sound difference in the updated one? Or just what was it, "ergonomic features"? If the sound is going to stay pretty much the same...then I will just get it now.

The Neve one sounds very cool too...good luck with that. Wish I could have both, maybe someday ;)

just rereading your post...hrmm...October...I could wait until then...depends on the changes I guess.

If I was you, which I'm not of course, I'd go ahead and get one of the current units.

A tool is a tool, and it doesn't do any good sitting in the hardware store when you've got a plumbing job now.

The price is going up, as well as the features in the new version, which will have a new name as well.
