Wow I am so impressed with the NEO already and have only had it for a week and already recording and editing songs on it !! I hope to be able to share some audio with my friends here one day when I learn how to do that LoL !!!:D

You go, Dude!

Ok, I have my own view and opinions, but...

Given that you have an MSR-24, what motivated you to buy a 2488 NEO? I'd really like to know.

Here's my take, caus Brother, I also have an MSR-24 and have looked closely at the 2488 and lately the DP-24,...
1) Who doesn't like new gear and toys to play with?
2) There's something alluring about a 24-track that sits neatly on the desktop.

Reasons I've not taken the plunge:
1) Tho it's 24 track, the 2488 series has more limitations vs. the full fledged MSR-24 based setup.
2) Why spend $600 more for 24- when I can just spin up the one I already have sitting right over there?
3) I'm in a scale-down mode now, not on a scale-up mode, for personal reasons.
4) Justifying any large purchase is a difficult issue for me right now, later TBD.

On balance, I'm happy for ya. I'm also living vicarously thru you ATM.
I think we're dealing with similar issues that we might discuss more offline sometime.
:spank::eek:;)

Well mainly cause when I was married(divorced 5 yrs. back) I had converted a 25X40 garage into my studio and had all the room I needed for my analog settup which i would die for to have that settup again but......Im living in a lil 2 bedroom house with all my stuff stored here also, so its almost impossible for me to have my M-3500 along with my MSR24S and the racks of stuff and stand alone units settup in the small house i live in. Beleive me,i havent given up on my MSR24S are the M-3500 mixer and all the DBX and outboard gear that i have. A matter of fact I have a 3 head($1000)JVC cassette deck that I could mix masters to and I am using it for things right now.Id love to share some pics and audio in the future here for people to see and hearthings that i have done and also accumulated......and I love all my gear. I'll finish this later ok? Gotta go meet my girlfriend for lunch !!:D

That's great! I hope you have as much fun with yours as I'm having with mine!
