Hi, got 2 questions, i am recording friends that sing rap... the thing i do is first record the voice.. and then mixing it with sound forge... i have to look the best place wich the voices go with the insturmental... i would like to know if there are others ways to record rap... and also for isnturmentals i use fruity loops... but i dont know where to find sounds and libraries to create more... and where to get ideas for isntrumentals.. if anyonw knows where i can find information on how to create an instrumental and looking for sounds.. and other way to record rap please let me know it... thx

I think it would only make sense to lay down your music tracks first so you have a tempo and arrangement to follow when you lay down the vocals. You get a much better feel for what your doing. If your not into creating your own music tracks I would suggest using loop CD's.

Exactly!!!

The music tracks recorded first will provide the feel and flow for the lyricist to follow. He/She then will be able to add any riffs, vocal rhythmic/harmonic/melodic flavoring and lyrical enhancement
according to the material present.

eggsactly(rumble)

you gatsta have the drumtrack!!! even if its not the final drumloop/part that your gonna use B! with the drumloop on its own track the rappin' will be in sync, there will be a visual guide of beats to position your loops(synth, sounds, edits, sirens, explosions gushots brakes and bi#ches) you can line them up to the beats, one tip.
find the drumloop you want to use then edit it down so that its just one loop long(and still contains the whole part you want to loop) make sure the edit is right(super zoom)at the start and right before the loop starts again(the very end) then copy and paste to length this will let you rap to the beat on the verse parts and see how many loops the verses are, how many loops the chorus will be etc... and you can pop out(delete) loops without losing the underlying structure b!
Boom ta ba boom boom ta... ... ... ... Get your drumtrack down then let it flow and if your rymes aint in time you'll know!!!

piece!
