I would personaly add some bass.

Your voice reminds me a bit of Rick Davies' voice. I'm a big fan of Supertramp. You must be too, or else, better check their older stuff. You'll love it.

I enjoyed listening to your song. Thanks.

very imaginative stuff. You are able to take simple pno parts and suck the juice out of them and emote some good music. I really like the synth sounds...right up my alley. ..even the sustaining pno sound too.

only gripe...the ending got extremely repetitive and I would have cut about a minute out of it...unless there was something riveting..like a good solo, etc..

things got a little reverby...but I can deal with that. Also, it appears you have a very similar drum sound from tune to tune...kinda like you know how to set up the mics, twist a couple of knobs, and you get your sound. A decent sound...very "real" sounding, as I can close my eyes and really picture a kit sitting in front of me. You create a good "space" around your drums...either with the OH...or whatever....and even with all the reverb on them this time. I think your drum sound has as much to do as anything in defining "your sound".

so...what's it gonna be...Thursdays??;)

Do I finally hear an artist singing and playing the fucking piano????????? YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice stuff, Emeric, albeit technically a wee bit simplisitic in nature. I really enjoyed many of your songs. Keys sound real full and warm. Vocals nicely recorded and balanced in the mix, for the most part. I hear shades of "The Overture" from "Tommy" repleat with some Keith Moon attempts at the drums on "Goodbye"!!!. I had a blast listening. Keep it goin'! Sincerely, ~~~Lee

Just brillant...totally nothing short of brillant. I enjoyed them all, and am a bit sad that this is the last "Sunday tune". Oh well you can start all over again next week:D

very easy on the ears..

it doesn't matter if you write about Sunday or laundry day, as long as you keep writing..

any complaints would be preference... I like the drum layers at the end.. yeah a solo would have been appropriate.. after a few listens I got used to it..

your music is always worth the listen..

Your one of my favorites so if you want an unbiased opinion...sorry.You should write a play to all this great 'Sunday' stuff.Toms could come up a little IMO ,vox a little reverby for your voice also IMO ,Ya know the ending....but it grew on me aftr the 3rd listen.Like watching someone walk away...it's rather undamatic but the feelin is there either way.Off into the distance...goodbye

emeric:

Nice playing with the stereo-field. I liked how the voices are panned and moved alot.

I have been following this Sunday series (actually everything you have done since the Unknown Song), and to tell you the truth, I have enjoyed every one of them, and this one is no exception.

Hope we will hear more from you

AL

I liked this a lot! Man you've got some cool writing skills! And you're a drummer as well? That's awesome! Good to hear. Sounded good man. The snare kind of hid in there a bit I think but ya know, just oppinions, meaningless if you don't agree. Anyways, good job.

fenderlikingood: Glad you liked them, thanks rick!

giaschel: There will be bass, didn't get to it yet. Supertramp? Never heard of them... :) No, seriously they are one of my favourite bands. Thanks for listening.

mixmkr: Thanks for the comments. It is a tad long isn't it? I don't know why I did such a stupid fade on this file. I'll definely cut the length back at least one minute and have a longer fad. l've tapped enough out of this piano kick I think, need to move back to guitar before I forget how to play.

SOUND DIAGNOSIS: I think the reason the piano is simplistic is because I really don't know how to play it. I'm limited in that ability, so that's as far as it can go. Thanks for checking it out Lee.

David: Glad you liked the series. Back to guitar I think.

B.SABBATH: Thanks for the listen. A friend of mine did the intro drums, I did the end drums. I had to overdub parts as drums are another instrument I'm a hacker on.

W.I.S.C: Been meaning to check out your tunes, I noticed you've posted a couple recently. Will do. Might be a bit too much reverb overall, I can fix that. Thanks for the feedback.

A1A2: Appreciate it. I hope to write more as well.

edit

agentpenguin185 must have posted while I was typing. I'm sort of a drummer, not really though. Guitar is my primary instrument. I'll take a listen to the snare, the mix still needs some adjustments here and there I might be able to bring it out better. Glad you liked the tune.

Hey Em,

....too bad man, we're gonna miss the sunday goodies.

This another cool one man. I would agree that its got a little too much verb..... but it sounds kinda appropriate for a departure song. ...gives it a distant, "walking away" kind of feel. Any of the sunday series could be developed into full tunes. Theyve all been great.

....howsabout Monday? ....a day of depressing anticipation. ...mmmm.... .....lotsa possibilites there:cool: :)

aw, now THERE are some drum rolls... dinner rolls from the Sunday table... the man who completely forgot that he KICKS ASS on guitar, out Lennon's the man himself on pno (mixmkr's word).

Now the question on everyone's mind is: after 3090+ posts, and countless great pieces of music, what could possess a man to want to stop writing music? HOPEFULLY that's the wrong conclusion we've jumped to, because we just can't get enough of you talented guys in this clinic.

Sure we got Tom, Al, Steve, Mike (G), Sam, Erland, macle, etc... but we're selfish damnit... and we gotta do something to keep you talented guys in here  makes us hacks feel a little bit more like actual musicians, you know ;)

Whatever you decide man... I hope it's not "quit"... hopefully more like "shift gears" or something.

Very cool as are all your tunes. I thought the 'verb didn't get too heavy 'till the second part of the tune. The first half; it was ok to me. As for the ending.....I think some strings ala Sgt. Pepper's would add some texture to it so that the ending wouldn't be too long.

Good song...I guess I need to burn a Sunday CD ;)

Thanks Guernica . Yeah Monday would be cool... always a dismal day for sure.

participant, no intention on quitting. Just think I'm overdoing (or under) with this piano stuff. It is fun though. Who knows. Thanks.

Lt. Bob, I started to fiddle with the verb last night but lost perspetive. Messed around with a bass line at the end as well, helps quite a bit. Don't burn that CD yet, have to mix and tweak them a bit. I'll send you a copy if you like.

Happy New Year All.

Well, I had to see what all the freakin' controversy was about. LMAO - 12 VOTES!!!

Very cool, as I've come to expect from you. I'd like bass, but this is good.

Hope the title doesn't mean you're stopping (haven't read...sorry). STAY

[edit] - let's make it an even 13 votes, eh? ROTFLMAO

Alas another era has come and gone.

Nice 70's type start!!!! Man I miss music like this!

1:43 is sweet.

Qualoty art rock man. We should do something together in 2003. :)

Nice job!

very cool Sunday song again......Id like to hear the bassline version.......

I will greatly miss the Sunday songs....parting is such sweet sorrow......

send the Lt. 2 CD's.....i know one of his neighbors that would like one;)

The song's not my style.. but the drums in the intro sounded good. Nice rolls.

Hi Emeric. I'm so frugal with my downloads (damm Uni policy) I've not listened to much of this stuff before. I really like it and agree it's refreshing to hear piano feature for a change. And I really dig the atmospheric style... very stylish. In the intro too I thought you did well to make the simple arrangement work.. in my experience timing issues/problems always get amplified in slower songs making them really difficult to play (I assume no sequencer is involved ?)... but you made it work. My only complaint might be that the end of the first half (~1:37) is just a tad too quiet.. but I can see the effect your after.

Good stuff
