I'm getting a guitar head for free i think its 120w. I'm not a guitar player at all but i fool around with it alot and jam with some friends. I just need a cab now. I was wondering if there were any cabs that are good and cheap?

Avatar Speakers - http://www.avatarspeakers.com/ . A really nice product...I have 3 of their speaker cabinets. They also have an EBay site. You can pick up empty or loaded cabs as well as raw speakers. I highly recommend them.

That's probably the best cabinet for the money if your not pumping heavy wattage.

But he's getting a 120 watt head that'll fry that Lady Luck speaker at 1/2 volume.

That being said, if there was a cabinet out there that's both "good and cheap" everyone would buy it and nothing else would sell. The old standard "you get what you pay for" rule applies here. A used cabinet might be your best bet, but you never really know how it's been treated.

I'd opt for something like a Crate 4-12 bottom to keep up with that head.

This one is relatively light (54 lbs) and cheap in price and should handle the wattage. It just happens to be on sale, too.

Just make sure the ohms match.

If you can find one...and it may be hard to do so...get a park cab...i have one, and its made my spider II head sound really awesome.

+3 to Avatar.

But what part of "cheap" do you guys keep missing from the guy's post?

If you want good sound, then yeah..celestion vintage 30's and so forth in an avatar. Whats the head btw if you dont mind me asking?

its either going to be a marshall something something or a line 6 spider II

it all depends on the other guitarist in the kids band

I don't have an Avatar but if I had a head that I needed to match with a cab, I wouldn't hesitate on getting one. I don't think I have ever heard a bad thing about them.

I also happened to see one live in action this past Friday. Sounded fantastic with the Reverend combo the guy was using.
