Good starter book for electronic repairs?

Hi guys,

I've decided to start fixing up all my cranky gear, but have no experience.

Rather than posting endless questions on here, I thought I'd try to find a good book that could teach me what I need to know. I'm talking about things like fixing up broken effects pedals, circuit board repair (I need to replace a bridge rectifier on a Marshall amp but don't want to ruin it), that sort of thing. I own a soldering iron, and have used it a little to fix guitar leads and change some guitar pickups, but really I need some kind of handbook to stop me making loads of stupid mistakes and ruining some perfectly good gear.

Any suggestions? I've looked on Amazon but nothing jumps out at me.

Cheers.

Bump!

BUMP!

Come on, surely there must be one? Have I put this in the wrong section?

ya might try some craig anderton type projects... or if ya want to work with tube guitar amps cop aspen pittmans book... but if your realy serious then at the least check your local com college for a beginers class... that way you'll get plenty of the basic theory...
