Hello,
Not to sound like an ego man. I've just been waiting for 11 days for this song to finally be approved by mp3.com so I could find out what you all think. I am just a little excited. I have heard many of your posts and think you will like this. This is my most pro-sounding song yet: 32 days,16...minute

http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/167/ryan_mcdougall.html

I play everything on all my songs so far. Let me know what you think. I am going to start a new song next week and could use some feedback.
thanks,
ryan

Nice Stuff Mate!

32 Days 16 Hours,

I listened to the above song and found it quite enjoyable. Could you list the equipment you used to record this song. The song sometimes reminded me of a Bon Jovi song only by the melody not by the style. Nice work!

I listened to Lean as well,

I liked it, nice gentle ambiant vibes. Original too! How old are you?

Nice!

I'd also like to know what equipment you're using.

What effects are u using on the guitar parts?

One thing bugged me- The "just can't get enough" right b4 the guitar solo could be better. It sounded a bit off to me.

Shana

thanks. I was going to ditch the vocal take, it was done in about 10 minutes total, but decided perfection isn't necessarily good.
I used an alesis adat, gadgetlabs wave 8/24, alesis q2, digitech s100, behringer auto com, and bellari rp282 compressor. I have a mackie 1604 vlz pro and ns 10's.
most of the guitars are done dry with a new vox cambridge amp. The wet guitars are on my mesa dc3.

shana, do you mean the tremlo on the right side. other than that I just used a very small amount of flange. just enough to fill up space. there were about five or six guitars during the chorus and 2-3 during the verse. You were right about that vocal part. Oh, well. There's always next time around.
the vocals were done with an akg c3000. and an sm57 on the guitars.

I had to eq the entire mix after finding out how much the ns-10's were lying to me. So the high eq might be crazy. how does it sound on your speakers?

check out Roswell. you might like that one as well. It has an iteresting mix.
by the way I just turned 20.

rayn_man, nice work, great song, great recording, happy birthday ;]

hy rayn_man,

the first thing in the first few seconds was that I really liked the environment you created with the reverb.

I liked the vocals but I think it could come up just a notch and could use less room.

All in all a very good mix.

Man, what are you a drug dealer? That's a lot of equipment for someone who just turned 20. Where do you get your cash? I could use some.

The song sounds nice. The solo could come a little more to the front if you ask me. And the 'just can't get enuf' before it, yeah, something sounds off.

Nice mix though. Sounds quite well balanced.

hello,
nice pic mrlip. Thanks everyone. mabey I could double the solo left/right. I have already changed the mix from the adat so it's too late to change the pan. besides it was just supposed to be a scratch track that survived. I just bought a new drumset and a hammond m3 so I will be doing some more songs once I get the time. And no I don't do drugs. I sell my body to lonely house wives. It's a full time job.
ciao,
ryan
