Hello,
As the title suggests, I am not a DJ, but I want to start dabbling with scratch sounds in my recording. I do not have the ear to know a "real" sound from a "fake" one, so I don't really care, but I want something semi-quality if possible. Also, I don't do or get into live sound at all: all I do is just home-studio recording. So my question is this: if I want semi-quality scratch sounds, do I go for something like the KAOS PAD, some sort of VST plugin, or some other route?
