I've been waiting for Alesis to produce a workable solution to my Windows 7 64 Bit problem until now.

Now I'm beginning to look for alternatives to the MultiMix 16 USB 2.0.

I found this, and on the surface it seems to have just about everything I want.

XENYX X2442USB

http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/X2442USB.aspx

I would rather stick with my current Multimix, but Alesis seems either unwilling or incapable of writing a 64 bit driver.

Please post your thoughts about this mixer.

PS, the X2442USB can be bought in the US for $350 from most places.
thanks

it looks like the behringer mixer only allows the master out to be recorded through the computer. The page says

"Built-in stereo USB/Audio Interface"

To me this would seem useless as an audio interface, an it isn't capable of recording the whole 10 inputs simultaniously.

I came across the Tascam M-164UF, which allows 10 channels to be recorded simultaniously, as well as a return track from the computer.

I hoped this helped

I have some drives I got off the board...seem to be working fine with my new 65bit PC...

I have ony scratched the surface of recording but all seems to be working fine. let me know if you are interested....

Yup! But it ain't!
Sorry. This is my one and only angst with Behringer.
They are advertising this as a USB device and it isn't.
It comes packaged with a $50 USB device which will feed a stereo signal into your PC and will in no way live up to your expectations.
It's a great mixer. I have the 1204FX and love it but it is not an audio interface and that is what you need.

I'm keeping the multimix. I got 64 bit drivers for it (finally).
