hey hey, i've been using n-track on my pc for the past 3 years....and the 333mhz pentium2 cant chug along much longer. i just got one of the new 12" powerbooks and, even though the soundcard on a laptop cant be too great, i was wondering if anyone could suggest some good multitrack recording and mixing software for osx? hopefully as nice and easy to use as n-track :) thanks, -nate

all of the software is available for OSX now. I am using Protools 6 since I have a Digi 001 and I think is pretty good.. They say Cubase SX is great, and I'll be watching what will Apple do with their Logic purchase.
Just for fun, there's a free version of Spark for OSX, I think it's called Spark ME. It's 2 track but it's a nice one.

Cheers, Andrés

I couldn't compare it to what you've used before, but Digital Performer 4 is an excellent program for recording and editing both MIDI and audio in OS X.

Unlike Logic and Cubase, it is free of insulting and presumption-of-guilt dongles. It also comes with outstanding documentation.

Another very powerful DAW is Metro, but I find it not nearly as accessible and easy to use as DP4.

oh good, thanks for the suggestions guys. ill check those out. yeah im off to college next year and ill be bringing my small mixer and 2SM57's...just trying to find some nice easy software to use with my new 12" powerbook :D

Not so easy at first, but one of the best. Now geared specifically for Macs...Logic Audio 6 (Emagic)
