I'm getting awfully close to getting a new nylon-string guitar. You know, this isn't the thread for it, but you get the goods anyway: there are only five elements to good homerecording: the material, the sound, the performance, the gear and the recording skills. Your guitar and your voice come into the second category of 'the sound'. I keep putting it off, telling myself that a new mic would do me better, but the truth keeps coming back on me - the guitar's primary. So, here's the deal - I'll be in Britain in June. Anybody know of any guitars/luthiers/shops worth checking out? London/Birmingham region primarily.

Sorry I dont know.

I thought guitars in singapore would be reasonably priced, no?

Nylon string guitars in Singapore are really low-grade. It's hard to find a guitar you can spend more than $300 on. For a really sweet sound, I reckon you have to spend over $1k at least. Mine cost about $700, and although it's a nice guitar, I *know* there's something better.

Thanks, Treeline. I had started to sniff out retailers one by one. But that page of listings you posted is great!

yeah come to think of it, nobody in singapore ask about nylon string guitars. all the shops are importing steel string ones eg. tacoma, larrivee, lakewood, taylor ..etc.

hey hang on, talk about nylon string guitars, i used to have a handmade spanish guitar! Now i just need to remember whose home i left it in.

Most definitely check out the excellence of Rick Turner guitars.
