good mixer for recording drums

so my friend who is a drummer wants to record. He bought some drums mics and is looking for a mixer. He doesn't want to spend a lot, but he wants decent quality. He has six mics so he needs a mixer for that. Thanks a lot
 
I think the mackie vlz pro models are pretty good. I'm using the 1202 model to record my drums. It only has 4 mic inputs though. The 1404 model has a few more mic inputs i think.
 
I don't think he wants to spend that much and he needs six inputs. I was thinking beringerh might be good?
 
behri's are cheap...whether they are good or not...thats debatable.

If all your doing is recording for your enjoyment...those cheapos are fine...but if you want to maybe make a demo cd or something that gets sent out.....spend the extra cash to get something better...yamaha,mackie,soundcraft.

Agreed: Behringer mixers are amazing for the price. I have one myself in my studio, currently saving for a Mackie but this will do fine until then! And I'm not in a rush. I despise the built in effects - veryyyy noisy and not that great. It's gold for the price, I'd go for it.

If not Behringer, Peavey is good for the price and their stuff is very durable.
 
I was thinking about recomending peavy to him. If they are noisy is this something I could clean up in cool edit because I know there is a way to do that.
