I am interested in finding good drum software to jam/record with (I play guitar and do my own vocals bluesy/rock style). I have rebirth but it seems like it works better with dance music. I also have tried acid rock from sonic foundry since they use live recorded samples. I like the sound quality but it is limiting since there isn't enough variation and does not sound good once you go below 100 bpm. Any suggestions?

I agree, FruityLoops is worth the minimal money they want. It's dirt simple to use and very versatile. Creating multiple loops and combining it into a song is very quick and straightforward. It even has a "humanize" option to kinda sorta give it a non-machine feel.
