Good deal?

I just found some 703 panels on craigslist.

The guy says they're about 3x5 and 1 inch thick. He says he has a bunch already finished and would sell them for 13 bucks each.

Are one inch thick panels good for anything? I mainly want them for clouds over the drums and monitors, and along the walls next to the drums to kill reflections.

Good deal?

It's not a great deal, unless the finish is nice. It's an OK deal, but more expensive than buying a box of unfinished insulation. 1" panels are useful for killing early reflections around a kit, and you can stack them for lower-frequency absorption.

3x5 is an unusual size, this stuff usually comes 2x4, plus whatever thickness he framed out. If it is really 3x5, then I suppose it makes a better deal.

After crunching some numbers, I'm thinking it's not a good deal for me. I need 2 to 4 inch thickness.
