Just out of curiousity...it looks as if I will be buying a pair of the Yorkville YSM1 studio monitors for $120. They are not the newer i series of them, and are "gently" used. Supposedly flawless shape cosmetically and more importantly, functionally.

My question is...am I getting a good deal? I know the YSM1i's go for about $230 + shipping...is there a huge difference between the two except the YSM1i's look nicer?

Also, does anyone recommend an amp that will work with them. I'm looking at trying to limit my spending to $100 on the amp (on e-bay), so is there any in the $50-100 range. I kno you pay for what you get, but I'm a very broke man right now.

Good choice CB,

I have a pair and they are very good for the money $$$. $100.00 is a great price for that pair.

The only difference that I know of between the two is what you mentioned, just a newer LOOK.

I use a Samson Servo 120 for my amp but any of the others like Alesis will work just fine. You want to have at least 60 watts per channel. another $100.00 or so for an amp, and you will have a good monitor system.

"NOW" the real trick is to learn how to interprit them to produce a good mix.

Good Luck

I have a pair. They sound better than my friend's Alesis monitors that cost way more. I got a Tascam 4 track 424 and a pair of YSMs for $300.
