I've been jonesing for a SansAmp GT-2 but don't want to pay damn near retail for a used one. Are there any other decent rackmount or pedal sims out there?

Honestly, on a tight budget, you are not really going to do much better, at least if you want to get to a place in front of an audience.
Tons of crap out there, expensive crap, too.

The SansAmp is built to last, hard to break (I've broken my share of cheepy pedals), and sounds good Anywhere. It would last you a long time.
