I've been messing around with the idea of getting a used Korg D3200 and put that in my music room where my amp is. I can't really make any noise in the living room where my computer and audio Interface is at. They seem to have lots of possibilities and they're not really expensive. Of course, the preamps are probably crap compared to the RME and Focusrite preamps I'm using (or rather not using because of the noise issue - I live in a basement Apartment). Editing is also probably limited but maybe that would make me record more raw material and become a better player.
I am definitely not moving my computer as I stay in the living room for many reasons and I'm not getting another computer.
I really like the idea of a standalone unit with physical knobs/faders/buttons and I kind of get lost in all the plugins and stuff in my DAW. I would still keep my audio interface. It looks inspiring but maybe there are obvious cons that slips my mind.
Any thoughts about this? Any experience with the D3200?
