yes
I got a 10 pack of these for 50 bucks. i figured what the hell because theyre so cheap, how bad could the really be.

i'm actually pleasently surprised. they got strong connectors, and a strong cable.

and i got a 3 pack of es 57s. holy crap. they are awesome mics, and not to mention they are built like a tank.

just figured i'd let everyone know.

i haven't tried the es57's but i have some of the gls cables and i think that 10 pack is a sweet deal for the money.

I have 6 ES57's and absolutely love them on drums! Not too thrilled about them on guitar amps, though. Maybe it's my placement.

i was thinking about getting that deal for the cables. glad to hear they are pretty sound. yeah i love my es-57. i need to get some more though.

Which drums? Toms and snare? Tried them on hat or ride or anything else?

Toms and snare. Haven't tried them on cymbals because I use condensers for those. They really work well on toms. Nice and punchy!

Can you compare them to anything? A real 57? Senn e609? 421?

they have the high end of the 57, but with a differently tuned low end. at least thats what I hear. the 57 has more of a higher-low-mid based low end, while the copy has a lower-low-mid based low end. (sorry if that didn't make any sense). I still haven't tried them on drums yet. I have to get on that.

Phil here is the master of the ES57's, if he would be so kind to share a drum sample and if you just listen to the tom's its like those are $30 mics? His drum sound is very smooth yet nice and punchy, hard to explain. If he doesn't want to share, you are just gonna have to trust me. I know toms become just part of a picture that we call a drum kit, but his, man he does a great job with what he uses.

Thank you for the kind remarks!

I have had to rebuild my webserver, so the old posted samples are no longer available, but I will post some samples once I have time.

Maybe in a day or two.

Phil

Man! I'm going through the old samples and am kind of disappointed in retrospect. Not that the mics are doing a bad job, ...just that I have gotten so much better at recording since then. These sound like crap to my ears now.

I'll post what I've got, but i think I need to update some recordings to show how good these really perform.

OK. Here's one...

Pardon my playing. I don't remember why it sucked so bad. If I remember right, we were just testing sounds and I was telling my guitarist how to adjust things while I was playing. I wasn't to concerned with drumming technique.

God, I need to work on my chops!

honestly, on toms i like them better than sm57s. these won't be the weakest link in your chain. their cables aint bad either.. had em for at least a year and they're still going strong.
