I just bought a cheap and chearful gls made sm57 copy
Anyone have any experience with them?
I'm hoping it will be a bit of a workhorse
Will i be dissapointed?

Hmmmm no experience with that brand, but I've been pleasantly surprised by a few 57 knockoffs before! Sometimes they don't sound like 57s, but they'll still have a nice sound! Seems like the one you've got has some pretty good reviews though!

It has mixed reviews from what i have read. Mostly based on folks trying to compare it to the sm57.
I'm coming at it from a differant angle being as i have never owned an sm57 to compare it to. (not that i've never worked with one)
Sure im hoping it will be a good all rounder and cover some of the dutys an sm57 would do.
If it doesnt then i'm sure i will find its best use for my situation.
I believe the qaulity control can be a bit sketchy and the mics can vary quite a bit.
If anyone has any thoughts or experiences with them i'm intrested.

Thanks for the comment Guitaristic btw

I have 3 of them, as well as a 58 from GLS - I also have the Shure SM57 to compare to - In a live setting, I can tell no difference at all in the mics (whether it be on a guitar cabinet, or snare drum) and I compared the 58 to the Shure in a Church at one time, and again, no difference. Definitely worth every penny. I have used these for a couple of years now with no problems at all.

Ive got three of the 57's also, and have no problems at all, they are well built. As far as sound I cannot tell the difference between these and shures. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
