Hi - new one for me tonight - I've been working on a piano midi file in cwgs 1.0 - and have tonight noticed a glitch - like a hiccup or click - right in the middle of it. I have recorded several times over the same track - adding little bits where I saw fit, and I have applied velocity controllers - whether these have any bearing on the problem I don't know. I have tried deleting all the notes in the bar and replaying the part, alsomhave tried copying and pasting into a new project but the glitch remains -it seems it is embedded in the midi file itself. How can this be if midi is just signals??? Any ideas? Regards Malgo.

hey

I'm new to midi and probably shouldn't jump into this one, but the bbs is slow today. One thing that comes to mind is to delete that measure entirely, than insert a blank measure, retake that measure.
One thing though first!, are you sure its on the track you think. try muting all tracks except for the midi track in question.
make sure there are no automation tracks that may have recorded something you were playing with, it may be a short volume slider movement thats causing clipping or something.

If that works, I must know something about midi after all :D

These files are quite small. Can you e-mail me a copy of it?

:o Oh dear - I found a piece of the piano track that I had converted to audio on another track - just a snippet which happened to finish exactly where I heard the hiccup - even though I swear I copied only the midi track itself last night and still heard it - still it was late - and I don't hear it tonight when I copy it... must have been that european soccer final - Malgo

Thanks guys - the funniest thing happened when I tried to copy it to send by email - it was ok again! this time I reduced the piano view so I could select the whole track easily - I pasted it and it was fine. So Torpid-x I think you were right. I think it was a volume slider or something on an underlying track - I had tried deleting and retaking but the glitch was still there. I'm gonna try it again now - 24 hours on - if it happens again I will emiail it to you before it escapes drstawl! Cheers. Malgo
