GL Wave 8/24

Yea! My 8/24 finally arrived today. It showed up in one piece, and installed without any fuss. I recorded 5 tracks simultaneously as a test without a hitch. Life is good.

So who else is using these, so I know who to bug if I have questions down the road?

Got mine 10 days ago but have hardly touched it while I searched for a mixer (check my little story under Mixers). Will finally give it a good shot this coming weekend.

I will buy it this month (I HOPE)... here on Brazil have a directly distributor of GL, so i can buy it on the store.... but here it costs US$ 1000 ! IT'S A ABSURD !!!

Tell me problems please before i buy a US$ 1000 board !!!

No problems I have found. It does not record at 96k, only up to 48K, which some people find unacceptable. But I would rather have 8 tracks at 44/48 than 4 tracks at 96 anyways, and you can't beat the price - at least here in the US. Don't know why it is double down there - high import taxes maybe?

I fully agreee... and it's gonna be a while before my other components are good enough to really reap the benefits of 96k. What good is a small quality improvement if my speakers don't know the difference?

Everything is still smooth, so far. I successfully recorded 8 tracks simultaneously tonight without even having to think much. Patched everything up and let 'er rip. I like that.
