I'd like some comments on my bands new song. I know the vocals aren't the greatest, because I did them . We're sorta in the process of getting a new singer, so those may or may not stay. I think i'm going to retrack the intro guitar, it's not very...consistent. But besides that, tell me what you think, no need to be gentle. I know cloneboy will have some fun with this one...
The singing is horrid...ok, I see why you are quitting.
Why not just practice? You need to practice holding a tone and singing with some exaggerated enunciation. You know what works awesome? I have a tuner with a tone generator thing in it and sometimes I will check my tone holding ability with that. I play the note with the tone thingie and then see if I can keep my voice at that note and use the tuner to check.
I bet if you spent twenty minutes a day doing that you'd be awesome.
The drums are out in a few spots, it's more of a general not-tight thing. Tell your drummer to ditch the backbeat thing, he is not doing it spot on and it shows badly. Simple is better...use the extra beats to build the song and not bash them out the whole way through.
