i like your idea's. No recording comments from me, sounds good. The transition in the beginning is very cool. Can you give some details on the recording?

what details?

the vox was recorded with a CAD m9 to rnp to rnc to speck eq to tape...

everything else was DI'ed thru the rnp, and maybe some out board comp and eq with the rnc and/or speck
