GigaSampler Hi Hats

I have GigaSampler LE w/ Cakewalk PS 9.0. I just got a cool sounding drumset from Sonic Implants for my giga, and they are wonderful except the hi hats aren't exclusive, i.e. the open hat still rings when the closed hat is triggered.
I have all the hats set to the same Key Group in the Regions Properties, so what gives? Am I missing something?
I have spent no less than 5 hours tring to solve this stupid problem!

Here's what I can offer

I did just that and subsequently spoke to an actual Nemesys tech support person. Here's the official word:
Nemesys included the Key Group parameters in the user interface of GigaSampler, but never got around to acutally making it functional. Once GigaStudio was released, the just forgot about it. They want everyone to upgrade anyway, so why bother?
The least they could have done was put in a pop-up window or a few sentences in the help file explaining this so it would be obvious that this function did not work. Instead I spent approx. 5 frustrating hours trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.
