ok guys, you probably know my story from the last coupla months with my delta 24/96 audiophile. i got it running good and recording nicely on N-track.

PROBLEM IS: everything i play back now be it mp3,cd's, or internet radio i get the obligatory pops and clicks. is there a NEW fix to this lately? another words everything sounds like crap. i haven't changed anything.

hey GIDGE,GETUGHRIP,JD----whata ya think?

i'm not gidge, getuhgrip or jd...but a few things:

Have you downloaded all the latest drivers?

How fast is your hard drive? Sometimes slower harddrives may make audio crack and stuff

Are all the connections secure?

thanks milkman, just now i am playing off a cd and no pops or clicks. i don't know what it could be. i have noticed before the more i play or record the noise comes on.

i have a 7200 20 gig h-drive and the latest drivers from a month ago. i'll check again.before, i went through 3 different drivers for the 3 weeks it took to get this card up and running. i hope this ain't gonna be "driver of the month club" on this card ;)

btw,i have brand new goldplated rca comnnectors running from and to my mixer/amp.

JW! wasuuup!

problems again, huh...well im not sending the tape back:D

let me roll up my sleeves....ill dispense with all the updated drivers questions, weve been there......

ok , assuming you had it working ok, ask yourself what has changed since you had the setup working....any gear in the chain added?...any software or hardware added to the system?.....

yo gidge, happy new year. well all i did is copy about 100 megs of scanned pics over the holidays for my family. and last week i added the half-life game to my hard-drive. all told,i have 7 gigs free on my drive. but before that i was getting pops and clicks.

i was so worn out from working on this thing from before i didn't tell ya after a few days i got pops and clicks. and it's the more i play or record the sooner the noise comes around.

i still want a seperate h-drive just for my music.

Also make sure that nothing else is running in the background when you record. I usually set power management and display in Control Panel to shut off the monitor very quickly but leave everything else running. THIS WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! I ruined a CD I was sending to an external burner in Vegas when the monitor shut down. Redid it with these options not engaged and there was no problem. BTW: while a second hard drive for audio won't hurt- this problem sounds like it's caused by something else. I've been using one drive for years with no problems other than the loose nut behind the wheel.

>all told,i have 7 gigs free on my drive

I get into cleaning mode when it falls under 2 GB free on my drive.

ok it's dumb question time. how do i check my background running programs? if it's cntl/alt/del in win2k i'm ok. other than that i don't know.

ALSO:
this is/was/has been forever ongoing items in my event viewer in win2k:

1-the driver detected a controller error on \device\hardisk0\DRO

2-a parity error was detected on\device\ide\IDE Port 0

now i must say that these things were happening "before" i installed my Audiophile24/96. all drivers are updated.

ALSO:

there is a program in my control panel that won't leave. it's a left over synth program from my phillips 702 s-card. it's not in the add/remove section. i can't find it in the registry. i can't delete it from the control panel. very strange. it's called Yamaha softsyntheiser S-YXG50. it allows you to adjust processor load, add effects, etc. i've got everything on off or very low.

but----this could be interfering making my pops and clicks.
