I'm looking for a bit of help a friend of mine gave me some gear and i have a general idea of what i need with the circumstances given. I want to start recording my band with what i have how should i go about doing this?
The equipment that was given to me are:
- ART tube mic pre amp
- 1 Shure SM57
- Behringer Ultra DI pro 4000 4 channel
- 2x Behringer Ultra Patch pro model px 2000
- LTO HPA6 6 channel headphone amplifier
Right now i own a macbook pro 13" 2010 intel core 2 duo processor 2.4GHz
I might need to update my RAM on my macbook pro but equipment wise i may need more such as:
-Audio Interface
-Recording software for mac (or use garage band)
-More microphones (recording drums)
-Mic Stands
-Better Preamp
The mics im looking into are Shure sm81 for micing the cymbals my Shure sm57 for snare and a Shure Beta 52a for the kick drum would this work? Which interface would be best suited for these mics in this configuration? I need some guidance as to what to buy and if im on the right path.
