Brand new to this. When I record drums, bass, guitars, etc., I can't get either the MIDI effects, or the chorus/reverb to work. Is there something I have to do to the tracks before these types of things will turn on.

Also, I can't Export Audio at all (only the native Save format)...again, am I being daft?

I'm just using Sonar and a soundcard, no other equipment yet.

The help file doesn't tell me anything that has to be done, other than going in and doing it, which isn't working:(

Thanks,
Shawn:)

What kind of soundcard? Most Sonar users have a soundcard, you know... ;)

Anyway, if it's a SB Live! or Audigy, read this post.

And as you know, MIDI is only commands, it's not audio. So you need to record the midi as audio in Sonar. It's easy:
  1. Open the Creative Surround Mixer
  2. Set the "Recording"-option to "MIDI Synth"
  3. Open Sonar
  4. Create an Audio-track
  5. Arm the track and hit record...
    [/list=1]

Silly me, of course...I just meant I don't have any outboard gear or other software installed yet, just the (yep, Audigy 2) soundcard.

I'll go through all this. Indeed, I've just been creating MIDI tracks with the built-in sounds of Sonar, nothing 'audio'.

Thanks again for your help, moskus.
