Getting I/P to VSTi but no audio O/P

I've properly set up my midi controller and I can see midi i/p on my transport. After some help menu reading I figured out how to configure the midi setup>system page properly. Then I figured out how to set the i/p's to the vst instrument so that I could see a midi recieved indication on the VSTi, BUT...... I still can't here the sound from the VSTi!!!!!! Plus on top of that I also noticed that my VST effect sends dont work either?!? So, anybody got any clue???

change the channel

is your midi track set to use the same channel as your input device is sending? If not, try "all midi input" and that should do the trick. Even if it's a different channel, all the lights/meters still see that there's midi input, but if your keyboard is sending channel 2 and the track wants channel 1, it no worky.
