Hey all-
I have a chance to get an Echo Gina 24 for practically nothing. Problem is, I used VST/SoftSynths and would need MIDI. Is there a way to do this - maybe another cheapo card for MIDI? Can I get a USB device that I can use for MIDI (this would be better due to lack of PCI slots). I notice that M-Audio has a MIDISport UNO USB device that provides for MIDI - is this acceptable for a setup?

Any ideas appreciated.

I can't speak from my own experience since I've only used soundcards with midiport myself but a lot of people use a generic soundcard side by side with a midi-less hi quality soundcard, just for the midiport, without a problem. Or you can just get that MIDISport UNO. That should work just fine.

christiaan: thanks for the input.

I'm hoping that there is no reason that the MIDISport wouldn't work - only thing could be possible MIDI latency/timing using the USB port. I'll be primarily using MIDI for playing softsynths in realtime.

Anyone else using a non-MIDI audio device/card, and using another device to add MIDI to their system?
