I use to have a staton pack that I got about 10 years and I had them for a long time but sold them to a friend, I haven't played for a long time but I want to get into DJing with out a lot of money for now.

I am not to sure on going back to vinyl on account that I can make a cd, and vinyl isn't exactly sold anywhere but up rok, or other mom n pop specialty dj stores.

Anyways I was wondering what I should get? I was interested in midi controller systems which is totally new to me.

The affordable one I was looking at was the Numark Stealth Control, behringer BCD-3000, and a few other hercules/gemini/others.
Even though the midi controllers look cool, I am not sure how well they actually work. So I have been looking through the CD Dj's systems, but there aren't that many packages for cheap!

So I was wondering if, anybody has any recommendations for me whether its midi, cd or vinyl?

I have been reading some articles and from I read the best "budger" midi dj system would be the Numark MIXTRACK Pro for 199$ with integrated sound card and a lot of nice features. It is probably the one I am going to end up getting.

After some more research, the behringer BCD-3000 is the cheapest midi controller that has an interface or the cheapest compared to others that need a 100$ interface.

For 149$ it is something that is worth getting for the time being, but the mix track pro seems to be the favorite for the sub 250$(cheap stuff that isn't for "pro's")
which is just fine because I am not gigging, but I can learn principles and basics until I get good and want to upgrade.

The one thing about buying cheap is, that you should go to cheap or else you got complete crap. For the BCD3000 and MixTrack Pro they are actually nice piece of equipment for the price!

one of these two will be just fine until I get around to affording CDj's or until I get some real gigs and need an upgrade!
