Getting an accoustic/electric into Cakewalk Pro audio 9

Hey guys!
first up THANKS for even checking my post. i want to get my Takamine accoustic/electric recorded into CAKEWALK pro audio 9 (when i get it ). Now could someone please help me as how to do this, step by step? thanks!
 
You will need to take a cord from the guitar into a preamp of some sort (a dedicated preamp, processor, etc) and from the output of that, go into a soundcard....from there its a matter of learning your software and how to adjust levels and record .....

got any suggestions? here's a little info, i'm not exactly rich ....so whats a good preamp or processer that would allow me to do this, with good quality? thanks again!:)
