yeah, i feel if i'm going to do this thing i need to really see what my hardwork goes through. i want to enjoy everything that i put into my work. it's kind of like those wine tasters visiting the actual vinyards that produce the grapes for their wine and like the Bently car plant flying it's customers out to Germany to stay in a hotel while they visit the plant handpicking everything that goes into their car. i know, i know, some people may be like F**** that just give me my s*it and let me sell it! nothing is wrong with that, but i want to be aware of everything that's involved in my hard earned work. up to a reasonable extent that is.

I guess at the end of the day i just feel better about myself, i mean i could walk into any company and Talk the Talk and Walk the Walk! these are the days and times where you have to BE the Business.

i agree, great post. it's nice to know that this kind of info is out there on the net for us independent artists.

Keep droppin knowledge, G!

I used www.dungeon-replication.com for my replication on the last album. Better pricing than diskmakers, and the quality is straight professional...

I suggest you give them a look before committing to diskmakers.

i checked out the site, seems to have competitive pricing. right now discmakers has the same offer DISCMAKERS PRICING . i do know with discmakers you get spline labels, which i definitely want on my packaging. good look with that link, i'll keep that bookmarked.

What do you mean by Spline labels?

If you mean the flaps on the CD Spines, Dungeon does that as well...

with dungeon, I paid $1800 for 1000 CD's with a 4-Page booklet, shrinkwrapped, and 1000 11"x17" posters for promotion of the album. It was a great deal. They got my album pressed and back to me in 3 weeks. It was great working with them, and I'll be using them on my upcoming project again.

:)

yeah, i'm talking about the label that has the name of your cd with the barcode on the spline of the disc. ok, the posters tip the scale in Dungeon's favor. did they mail you a proof of your cd before they replicated? i'm trying to save every penny i can and still get a professional product so i'm definitely going to keep them in my radar.

Well, my spline didn't have my barcode on it, it's on the back of the cover. Yeah, the e-mailed me PDF proofs of everything, but they gave me the option to approve them via snail mail too. So you can get a hardcopy before to approve it.

adding everything up i think if i go with your people i can save about $200.00. hmmm, i think i'm going to give Dungeon a shot.

i just snatched this from the marketing section. this place allows you to order any amount of cd's even just one single cd. i guess this is good for people who can only afford to pay for a couple hundred for their first spin.
