Ok, let me first just say that I'm retarded when it comes to computers. With that said - here's my question. I'm going to be recording using Digi 001 on a Pentium 4 1.3 ghz processor with 128mb RAM, Digi 001 recommends (but requires much less) having 196mb RAM, I'm wondering if I'll have enough memory to hold me over for awhile until I can buy some more memory. I've heard that Pentium 4 RAM is much better than on other computers, then again, I'm retarded when it comes to computers and I haven't even got this computer set up yet. So, what do you think?
One more question I have is about studio monitors. I know that I'm going to have to have some sort of monitoring system to mix on, but I'm really running low on money. At first, I was thinking that I was going to get an active pair of monitors, but then I decided I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I'm going to college in a few months, and there's really not much room for all this stuff in a dorm room (even though I wouldn't take it with me for the first year anyway - I just mean that I won't be using this stuff for an entire year starting in August or so). So, is there anyway to get around that for the time being until I get more space and money? Is there some sort of active headphone system or anything like that? (I apologize if these questions are really stupid, but I'm very new at this) thanks in advance!
