I haven't gigged for a long time and I've decided to take it to the street and try and get some performance hours under my belt and road test :D a lot of original stuff from the past few years. I've put together a setup on paper consisting of 2 sequenced, rechargeable 12V batteries - a recharger - 2 inverters for 220V and 110V conversion - Roland RD300s digital piano (220V AC) - Yamaha MG10/2 desk (110V AC) - Pignose Hog 30 amp. I'd appreciate any comments on the setup, especially when it comes to the choice of amp and mixer. Thanks.

For a really portable amp, you might want to check out the Carvin S400 (or S400D with digital effects) Stagemate. It has 4/5 channels built in, power amp and self contained battery supply. It possibly could eliminate half your battery pack and the mixer, if the 4/5 channels are enough. There is both an extended life battery pack (internalt) that ups run time to 6 hours instead of 3, and an extension speaker (but that will cut down your running time). The D version has digital effects by Alesis. Base unit is $399 mail order. Don't know about 220v or availability in Australia.

The Carvin s400 stagemate looks like a tasty bit of work for its $400USD price tag but it seems that if you're not in the states the Carvin site susses out where your computer is and wont let you on its US site, keeps redirecting me like a cattle yard. Got to the UK site and a Swiss one of all places but their price tag works out to around $670USD which marks up to nearly a grand over here. Don't know if I want to spend that much for a busking set up. Not much on the second hand sites either at the moment.

Anyone got any stories to tell about the Pignose or any other alternatives that might be sweet. Cheers.
