Played pretty well, but a lot of cheaper guitars seem to do this and then to crap out after a coupla years with lifting bridges etc.
Sound - not my cup of tea. Just didn't sound quite "right" a bit too "zingy" and bright. Another friend made the comment that it sounded better plugged in than acoustically. It would probably sound great in the context of a busy rock track though - cut through really well. Solo though, or in a sparser context, I think they sound a bit one-dimensional.
I have to say that my experience of shopping for a guitar in the sort of price range that these inhabit is that you can get either a nice guitar, or a crappy box with a pickup in it!
I bought a Garrison G40, played it all night, found the sound somewhat not to my taste, too thin, replaced strings wiht med gauge, not much change, and returned it for a Taylor 214. The Taylor had a fuller, more complex tone to me than the G40. I've since returned to the store and find the same G40 still there on clearance, played it again, same sound that doesnt seem quite as full as i'd like. Tried the other models, and they seem the same. No regrets returning the G40, and also found it heavier than the other makes.
I had a dream I was playing one and my fingers got tangled in the strings. I woke up with my wife slapping me in the face. Apparently I had woke her up with one of my hands feeling her breasts and the other in her hair.
