garble noise on play back

When i record from my mixer to my computer using bass or guitar i get a garble noise every couple of seconds. This is only on play back not during recording.
This started happening after i bought the new mixer. Could this be sound card or hard drive?????

Could be anything - what do I know? But if it started happening after you bought the new mixer, then you should add the mixer to your list of suspects, yes?

jlp- We need more info. What kind of noise is it? do you get it with other instruments (not bass and guitar)? Can you record without your mixer and if so do you still get the noise? what kind of mixer is it, and what soundcard, and what software?
