Garageband compression...?

I've enjoyed using Garageband to start doing some home recording lately. One frustrating part has been the lack of documentation, especially on implementing compression.

Do any of you know what all the options for compression mean (for example what does the 1-100 choice refer to)? I'm also trying to figure out what exactly headroom means for the MultibandCompr.
