Hi there.
I have an apple macbook pro laptop, a yamaha silent piano and a 16 channel "midi-link" cable which links the two.
I use two programs to record piano midi tracks - Sibelius and Garageband. While using both programs I have the same issue...
Gaps in my recording! What I hear myself play in while recording doesn't match what I here when I play it back.
When I analyse the gaps themselves, sometimes there are just no notes that have been recorded. Then sometimes I'll zoom in on the score and there are definitely notes there. I try to increase their velocity (volume) and note length but still they don't play.
Questions: Am I overloading the system so it can't keep up? If so what can I do to help it? Is my equipment not adequate for the job?
Does anyone have any tips or tricks on how to accurately create midi recordings of live piano?
