Anyone have gadgetlabs i/o cards?? Pretty cheap i see but how do they sound?? I saw on the site that they have a lightpipe I/O card. I need something that can eventually do 24 analog ins and 3 lightpipe outs--i am planning on getting the tascam TD-4000 board with lightpipe option so i can use my adats with it until i upgrade to HD recording....

the site consensus is that gadget labs is a great company , although i personally dont have one.. S8-N does , and he has never really said anything bad about it , and he'll rip any product just for not turning on fast enough when you push the power button.. that says alot.. a few other members here have them , and i dont think you'll hear any complaints..

No complaints on my Gadgetlabs Wave 8/24. The people at Gadgetlabs are real friendly and the unit is guaranteed for 5 years. I've never bought anything with a guarantee like that. I've done some comparison listening, with a spdif copy from a VS880EX, and if I had been blindfolded I wouldn't have known which was which. In fact I can't tell the difference between a regular copy without spdif. I can play a lick on a synth and record it with the 8/24, and it sounds the same when I play it back. Maybe my ears aren't as good as someone elses or maybe I didn't spend enough time listening or maybe my monitoring system isn't good enough, but I have no complaints. (whew)

I don't use lightpipe. Check out the Gadgetlabs website or e-mail them.
