Hi guys - I'm recording a spoken poem with background sound effects. There are several places where I read a fortune cookie & I want to set that apart from the rest of the spoken lines. I have in mind some kind of fx processing but not sure yet. Any ideas on giving it an "exotic" treatment w o overdoing it? Thanks.

Maybe try some sort of reverb effect, possibly a tiny bit of slapback in there too, to give it a kind of "dreamy" feeling.

What's the general 'tone otherwise? 'Dry/real/up close, or..? So, we're looking for some contrast, but need some point of origin.

right...it's someone talking/ruminating to himself. Maybe it's premature for me to post to the list until I'm further along. I'll post the final result when I'm done.

Yeah....it really depedns on how the rest of the spoken word is recorded and what overall sound it has.....and then just find something that will contrast with that.

Could be more/less reverb...some delay....flanging...maybe just getting right up on the mic and wispering rather than talking normal will do the trick.
There are a lot of options....but it all depends on how the rest of the track sounds.
