FW-1082 or MOTU 828mkII

I really don't know which one to get. The 1082 is cheaper and has much more features. But i'm not sure if i should really save up that extra cash for the Motu.
How are the pre's on the FW-1082? Is it the same as the FW-1884? Thanks.
 
The 1082 pre's should be pretty much the same as those in the 1884. The difference is that the 1082 is smaller with less features. I would still say get the 1082 over he 828 because it has the control surface and the mic pre's you would be lacking in the 828.
