Hi there,

long storey short, i'm trying to use a wah pedal (vox) and a fuzz (i've now tried a fuzz face and a tweak fuzz-i really like the tweak fuzz) together. but when i use a fuzz pedal the wah is pretty much nulified.

has anyone else had this issue? could it be the wah and not the fuzz pedal?

*edit for spelling

In this day and age, you never know if someone's talking about real effects or sims. But I'm gonna assume you mean real pedals. Which one do you plug into the amp, in other words, which one is first and which one is last ?

these are real pedals (I don't use sims, or cpu plugins etc).

I've tried the fuzz box both first and last in the order, and either way the wah is very minimal.

No. I have zero problems with my pre-retrofit Teese RMC3 running through a KLON Centaur pedal. Guitar > Wah > KLON > RM VoodooVibe > Amp.

I think the problem is really centered around the Fuzz Face/Rangemaster type pedals.

My guess is that your Fuzz (or the setting you have on it) has a high pass filter on it, negating the low end of the audio spectrum, hence the wah would have minimal effect.

Vintage-style fuzzes should always be placed before a wah. The fuzz effect works best when affected directly by the guitar, as the wahs buffer circuit interferes with the effect. With modern fuzzes, it should work either way.

Are you using single coils or humbuckers?

Guitar, Fuzz then Wah is the traditional & logical sequence & the way I use it: the guitar sound is turned into a saw/clipped wav form by the fuzz & then the wah runs it's sweep across that which is then attenuated by the amp.
Wah before Fuzz means the majority of Wah effect will be nullified.
I could be wrong but I recall that the Classic rock effect has a Fuzz face before a Dunlop Wah. You can find various sites that explain the effects and sequqnce used by famous guitarists to achieve the sound on particular albums, eras or songs. have a squiz.

humbuckers

Was this ever figured out? I recommend the addition of a high quality buffer [or pedal with one built in] to your chain, in your case at the end. Guitar > Fuzz/Dist > Wah > EQ or boost w/buffer [for example]

Rep added.
