Mixing and Mastering.
Check out this funky mix.
Any comments on mixing quality are very welcome.

I like the drum sound. Didnt add any reverb on the drums atall, I used the natural reverb picked up from the 2 sets of OHs and the room mic. Just used the close mics for a little more in yuour face punch.

Cheers,
Eck

OK, I'm not trying to give you a hard time, Eck. But now I see NOTHING that says "FUnky Mix". I'm really trying to listen to this...hehe. :)

Pretty cool....Kind of "Death-Funk". I'm not crazy about the drum-programming in the faster part...but I don't think that's what you want opinions on, so that's ok. The actual sound is fine to me. I love that snare and you have just enough verb on it. Everything else is right where it should be. The low end is thick, too. Good samples all around.

The bass was a synth im sure. I dont think the drums were programmed although you might be right.
Yeah the snare sounds awsome. THat was alot to do with the 2 sets of OHs and the room mic which also gave the drums natural reverb as I used no reverb on them.

Cheers Rami.

Yeah it wont have been drum programming on the drums as there was alot of change in the volume of each hit, had to use compression to fix that.

Well, then I'm impressed with the natural room reverb..

Though, I'm not sure if my thinking it was a drum machine is a good thing. In the busy part, those snare hits are all pretty much the same in volume and that part maybe could have used some dynamics. Some of those snare shots might have been better off as "ghost" notes. Of course, it all depends on what YOU and/or THEY want. But in my opinion, there's nothing wrong with snare hits being at different volumes, especially the hits between the 2 and the 4.
Overall impressive sounding, though.

Yeah I usually try to use as little compression as possible. Especially on drums so i dont kill the transients. Maybe I used a bit too much.
Thanks for your perseverance on my stupidity Rami. :)

I LOVE the snare sound. Really professional sounding.

Cheers,
Eck
