Full-Duplex?

I'm trying to record at the same time as playback, but can't afford a good software package right now. Trying to record two tracks at separate times and get them to be the same tempo is driving me nuts! Anybody know of any Shareware/Freeware I can use until I can afford some quality stuff?

I don't think you necessarily have a software problem. Are you sure that your sound card is full duplex, i.e. that you can playback and record at the same time?

Also, while it's not shareware, I've been having fantastic luck with Acid's products (about $50 at Best Buy).

Browse around this BBS and you'll see that there are quite a few people using n-track. It's available for download, the full version being made available to you after paying a $35 registration fee. You might want to look into that.
