Analogue Enthusiast
Hi,

I bought this thing some years back and used it maybe about a dozen times. All good, no problem but recently I've been getting intermittent signals. I plug and unplug it and it works perfectly so I'm not sure what it is. I've been told it may be as simple as cleaning the contacts or touching up the wires going to / from the XLR. Again, I'm not sure what it could be but I'd be surprised if it's anything more serious. I honestly don't want to deal with it so I would like to sell or trade this mic. It's clean, really well taken care of, never abused and outside of this issue I mention, it could pass for new. Includes the original Oktava pouch, adapter and will be well packed for shipping, which should be maybe around 10 bucks to anywhere in Canada / USA. I'm sure someone here can either fix it, mod it or use it as a parts mic. Anyway, I'm open to offers (paid via PayPal) or perhaps a trade for a dynamic mic, maybe a Shure or Electrovoice or ......? Try me and hopefully we'll make a deal. Again, make me an offer, either way. Thanks.:)

BTW, this is an original Russian made microphone and not a Chinese knockoff. I did a fair bit of detective work when I got it and it's indeed Russian made.

I have a Electro Voice PL 78 if your down to trade.

Thanks for the trade offer ObiAudio. Looks interesting. Let me think about it and also I'll give it a few more days and see if anyone else pops in with an offer.

I also wanted to add that, to be totally clear, that the mic either quits on me during performance or it's not working when I start a session but then if I unplug the cable and plug it in again, it comes on and works fine. It's not really moving the cable that does it but rather reinserting the cable. When it works, then it's a clean, noiseless signal. I don't know what it could be but the potential buyer / trade partner should know that the mic needs a fix to work right, how simple or complex, I don't know.

My sincere apologies for not responding, as promised. I still have the mic, took it, several days back, to a local music store, for them to check it. The guy plugged it in and it worked fine. I tried to explain the situation but he said that he couldn't find anything wrong with the thing. So I spent the next few days, till now, racking my brain, trying to figure out the fate of the 219. I haven't forgot your offer. I'll give you a shout if I'm def prepared to trade but for now, I'm still not sure. Honestly, I had thought I'd get more people interested (one person PM'd me, not to be heard from again) and also the PL-78 might be a bit different as to my needs. Again, still unsure.
