FS: Ampex Grandmaster 456 1/2" tape

I have nine used but good condition Ampex Grandmaster 456 1/2" tape reels for sale. While being stored at my mother's house, along with my Tascam 38 and Fostex 1/4" deck, the decks were thrown away, but the reels were for some odd reason saved. If anyone out there could use these tapes, I'd love to sell them, and actually know that they are getting used. $20 bucks a piece plus shipping. HOLY SHIT! The decks were THROWN AWAY???!?? Man, that sucks. It'll suck even more when you hear what I am about to tell you- those Ampex 456 tapes are on the "sticky shed list." That means the binder that holds the magnetic particles onto the mylar tape is letting go, after all these years, and the tape has little value. The metal reels have some value, but I'd think $20 each is much more than they are worth.

on the shed list? crap! I have some reels of that stuff, too. I haven't used my reel-to-reel in years, but seeing this ad makes me want to hook it up!
