I've been trying to find the price of a guitar online for the past hour and I haven't been able to find anything!

Does anyone have any idea how much a Taylor 314-CE costs in the USA?

My mom is going to the states this week and I'm asking her to pick one of these babies up for me but I can't find a price!!

I have to find out soon so that I know if I can afford it or not.

If anyone can give me some links to online Taylor retailers, or even better, if anyone KNOWS the (approximate) price of this guitar in the US, i'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

I do not know of any one that sells Taylors online...brick and mortar dealers are even hard to find.

I found the list price for a 310 at $1,248 but the mag did not list the 314 ce. I would guess you'd be looking at $1,300 to $1,800, depending on where your mom shops and how good of a haggler she is.

The music store where I bought mine isn't open today, but I'll go up tomorrw, see if they have one, and let you know about the price.

ok, now that i look again, they give a price on it, but they dont deal with the "lower end" guitars......

HOLY #%^@!!

In this 3rd world country I'm living in with loads of taxes on imported goods, the Taylor 314ce sells for less than US$1200.

Are these 'list' prices that you are mentioning the actual price one has to pay for the guitar, or is it more of a 'sticker' price that is greater than the actual cost?

I was expecting the US price to be much cheaper than the local price considering that over here we have to pay import tax/shipping/etc.

How much should I expect to actually pay for this thing?

Thanks.

Also, you said something about haggling? Do you mean that my mother will have to negotiate/bargain for the best price? (this is starting to sound scary)

1774.00 from the site i posted is Taylors list price, and they dont allow dealers to post discounted prices.....that site also doesnt handle that model, but if they did, it would be 1064.00 which would include taxes, shipping, insurance, the works.....im sure you will have to do some negotiating......

Try buffalobros.com--they sell online and they sell Taylors which are made here in San Diego. They also have a "full-price" trade-in program which I have utilized in the past. I've been in their store many times and they have a huge selection of new and used acoustics--only top of the line stuff.

Before you buy that Taylor, make sure to check out Seagull acoustic guitars. All the tone and playability of the Taylor, for half the price. These Canadian-made beauties are the best "new" acoustic guitars you can buy for less than $1,000. They're sweet!!

Ditto. In my opinion Larrivee is the best guitar on the market in it's price range. A builder told me QC is not as good as Taylor, however. In their price range, I haven't played a better guitar than Seagull--nothing even close.

Best way to find the price is to pick a dealer from the web and use their phone number to talk with a real person.

Taylor imposes price disclosure restrictions on their dealers. The idea is (I guess) to protect the small shop and maintain a diverse set of franchises, because otherwise, through the internet (or by mail order) one dealer can compete with the dealer in a small town across country. Because Taylor is so strict about its pricing policies, you are unlikely to find a price for a new Taylor anywhere on the net or in any catalog. Just call the dealer.

BTW, the dealer discount pricing generally reflects high value for the dollar.
