hi all, I hope I posted in the right section.
I have to record a song, in a certain point it changes time signature from 4/4 to 5/4.
I have all of the drum line and samples done perfectly in fruity loops, in two different files since fl does'nt allow for changing time signature during song.

so i have these two files, but i can't combine them in one long one to record other instruments on.I tried joining the two waves exported in ntrack, but I can't get it done perfectly. So i need an advice, pleas help me Im desperate, at least give me an advice of a software capable of doing what I need (changing time signature during the song) and that is able to import files from fruity loops.please help im in real trouble :((

I don't know about ntracks, never used it, but with fruity and Cakewalk this is easily done by just changing the time signature in Cakewalk accordingly and then importing the files from fruity loops. Why can't you do that in Ntracks?? there has got to be a way. I know that probably isn't much help for you but you asked if there is any other software you could use to do this. And Cakewalk does it.

i dont understand how i could do this!
i tried with cubase vst, but even with it I'm not able to join the two wavefiles so that it is seamless.
I could simply do different wave files with FL and then join them if there's a way to join them fine.please help I cant finish the demotape without this song :( I'm desperate!!!!!

Put them on separate tracks in Cubase. You don't want to "join" the two files. Mark the meter for the first section of the song in Cubase (not sure how this is done, but it's gotta be easy). Then, when you get to the end of the first part, mark the meter for the second part. This should be easy to do, and as an extra-big hint, this marker should go on the last beat of the 4/4 section. DON'T PUT THE MARKER AT THE END OF THE WAV FILE!!! The wav file probably has a little bit of a tail to it. Put the marker for the new time signature at the last actual counted beat of the first section. Then place your second wav file on a separate track, starting at this marker.

You're golden.

An even better alternative is to buy the full version of FruityLoops. Version 3.5 (out now) can run as a VST instrument inside Cubase... solving all of your problems in one fell swoop.
